Shining Hearts

Shining Hearts was produced by Production I.G and released in 2012 as a television anime adaptation of the Sega role-playing game of the same name. The series is part of the long-running Shining franchise, which has historically balanced fantasy-themed narrative tropes with the distinct, soft-edged character aesthetic of artist Tony Taka. The animation project sought to translate the game's peaceful, slice-of-life atmosphere, focusing on the protagonist Rick as he works at a bakery on the island of Wyndaria.

The adaptation was directed by Itsuro Kawasaki and emphasized a gentle, character-driven tone to differentiate it from more action-oriented entries in the Shining series.
