Kaihei is a rather normal high school student but soon discovers that his deceased grandfather has left him the chairman position of his all-girls high school, St. Luminous Mission High School. Besides being the only male student on campus, he is also now the young chairman in charge of campus rules, happenings and punishments. When Kaihei arrives however, it seems a student has gone missing. Kaihei, along with his closest friends, are now determined to solve this mystery (without getting the local police involved) before graduation.

Where it came from
St. Luminous Mission High School, released in 1998, emerged during a transitional period for Genco, a studio noted for its involvement in various niche anime projects. The series was designed as a lighthearted, character-driven comedy set within the framework of a mission school, tapping into the late-nineties trend of school-based slice-of-life narratives that prioritized quirky personality dynamics over high-stakes action.
The production utilized a traditional aesthetic common to the era's television animation, focusing on a distinct ensemble cast to drive its episodic humor. While it did not reach the broad mainstream success of larger franchise titles, it is remembered by enthusiasts as a specific artifact of its time, capturing the earnest, low-budget charm characteristic of many independent studio releases from the late nineties.
