Where it came from
The Short Drama Specials for Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu, also known as The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt, were produced by Studio AQUA ARIS in 2022 to complement the main anime adaptation. Released as promotional bonus content during the broadcast run of the television series, these shorts were designed to expand upon the light novel source material by Toba Toru. They function as lighthearted vignettes, capturing the sharp, tactical wit of Prince Wein Salema Arbalest while offering a comedic look at the administrative struggles of the Kingdom of Natra.
The production sought to maintain the visual consistency and character design established by the main series, focusing on the dynamic between the pragmatic Wein and his capable assistant, Ninym Ralei. By emphasizing the banter-heavy dialogue characteristic of the original light novels, the shorts provided a deeper look at the peripheral world-building that the accelerated pacing of the main anime episodes sometimes omitted. They were received primarily as a supplementary treat for dedicated fans who enjoyed the series' balance of political strategy and character-driven humor.
