Nearly a century after magic was recognized as a real form of technology, Miyuki Shiba begins her term at Magic High School. An “honor” student, she dreamed of enjoying school with her older brother Tatsuya, an “irregular” student. But a rift between the gifted Course 1 students and the inferior Course 2 students could stand in the way. This time, Miyuki is the star of the show!

Where it came from
The Honor at Magic High School was produced by studio CONNECT and released in 2021 as a spin-off to the popular The Irregular at Magic High School franchise. The series adapts the manga of the same name by Yu Mori, which reframes the original narrative by focusing on the perspective of the protagonist's sister, Miyuki Shiba. By shifting the viewpoint, the show provides an alternative lens on the events of the first season, emphasizing the internal experiences and social dynamics of the female characters within the magical high school setting.
The animation design was crafted to maintain visual consistency with the established aesthetic of the broader franchise while incorporating the distinct stylistic nuances of the source manga. Directed by Hideki Tachibana, the production aimed to balance familiar action elements with a more intimate, character-driven tone. Upon release, it was received by the audience as a companion piece that complements the original series, offering fans of the Mahouka universe a deeper look into the secondary plotlines and character relationships.
