Where it came from
The new A-Class.: Next Stage with YOU serves as a promotional short film and digital campaign released by Mercedes-Benz in 2018 to accompany the launch of the fourth-generation W177 A-Class. This project was designed to shift the brand’s perception toward a younger, tech-savvy demographic, emphasizing the debut of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system. By utilizing high-end animation and cinematic storytelling, the creators sought to frame the vehicle not just as a machine, but as an intuitive companion integrated into the owner's digital lifestyle.
The creative direction behind the campaign leaned heavily into futuristic aesthetics and sleek, polished visuals that highlighted the vehicle’s interior ambient lighting and voice-control capabilities. Produced in collaboration with advertising agencies specialized in luxury automotive branding, the film was intended to showcase the transition of the A-Class from an entry-level hatchback to a sophisticated, intelligent piece of personal technology. It was well-received within the marketing industry for its effectiveness in highlighting the brand's shift toward digitization and connectivity.
