Where it came from
The second season of 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess continued the animated adaptation of Robinson Haruhara and Hirakei’s popular fantasy-comedy manga, which was first serialized in Shonen Jump+. Produced by Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions, the series maintains the lighthearted, surrealist tone of its source material, focusing on the whimsical daily interactions between a captured princess and the Demon Lord's army.
The animation design emphasizes a sharp contrast between the light, playful character models and the darker, fantasy-inspired setting of the Demon Realm. By 2026, the series had solidified its reputation for utilizing 'torture' as a humorous vehicle for exploring modern creature comforts and mundane pleasures, receiving critical appreciation for its consistent pacing and lighthearted subversion of traditional high-fantasy tropes.
