Towanoquon: The Roaring Anxiety

Towanoquon: The Roaring Anxiety serves as the fourth entry in the six-part anime film series Re:Cycle of the Quon, produced by the studio Bones and released throughout 2011. Directed by Umanosuke Iida, the project was intended as an ambitious showcase of original animation and thematic depth, focusing on a group of young people with awakened supernatural powers known as Attractors who are hunted by a secret organization.

The character designs were handled by Toshihiro Kawamoto, a veteran collaborator with Bones known for his work on Cowboy Bebop. His aesthetic choice for the series emphasized fluid, kinetic movement and a distinct visual contrast between the ethereal nature of the Attractors and the stark, authoritarian machinery of the Custos. While the series is often noted for its high-quality animation standards, it remains a cult niche title within the studio's broader, more commercially recognized body of work.
