Tumulus Gal Coffy ~Cofunderella~

Tumulus Gal Coffy, released in 2010, originated as a self-aware, experimental film project that satirized the aesthetics and narrative tropes of 1970s blaxploitation cinema. Created by a group of independent filmmakers seeking to revitalize the grit and camp of the genre, the film was designed as a stylized homage, utilizing intentional production flaws and exaggerated performances to evoke a nostalgic, retro-exploitation atmosphere.

The visual language of the film was heavily influenced by the vibrant, low-budget posters and fashion sensibilities of the mid-1970s, with a particular focus on the 'Cofunderella' archetype, a play on the classic Cinderella narrative set within an urban, high-stakes environment. Upon its release, the film was largely met with interest from cult cinema aficionados who praised its commitment to the aesthetic, though it remained a niche production within the broader independent film landscape.
