Tunshi Xingkong 4

Tunshi Xingkong, also known as Swallowed Star, originated as a popular web novel by I Eat Tomatoes before being adapted into an ambitious 3D animated ONA series. Produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures and Sparkly Key Animation, the series debuted in 2020 as part of Tencent's aggressive push to dominate the Chinese domestic animation market, leveraging high-fidelity motion capture and complex character rendering to capture the scale of its science-fantasy setting.

The series is noted for its visual progression, transitioning from a post-apocalyptic Earth setting into expansive cosmic environments. The design team focused on balancing traditional wuxia elements with futuristic cyberpunk aesthetics, a direction that was largely praised by domestic audiences for its technical production values and faithful adaptation of the source material's complex cultivation progression system.
