The world has been rocked by a series of natural catastrophes — the handiwork of Shizuru Ozaki. Unbeknownst to the rest of the world, Ozaki aspires to something greater than mere mortality — even if that means destroying mankind....
But one man has the power to stop him. Armed with the mysterious Caizer Stone, Isato Kaiza possesses the power to transform into the armored hero GOWCAIZER! Gowcaizer and Hellstinger join forces with a vengeful man with a magic sword and a hidden past. Together, they must defeat Omni-Exist, the ghost-like personification of destructive human impulses.

Where it came from
Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer was released as a three-part original video animation series in 1996, produced by J.C.Staff to coincide with the release of the Neo Geo fighting game of the same name. Developed by Technos Japan, the project sought to capitalize on the popularity of the competitive fighting game genre during the mid-nineties by expanding the lore of the game's diverse cast of characters into a cohesive narrative format.
The character designs were handled by Masami Obari, a prominent figure in the anime industry known for his distinct, hyper-stylized approach to mecha and action sequences. Obari's influence is clearly visible in the series' aesthetic, which emphasizes dramatic proportions and kinetic energy. Upon its release, the OVA was primarily received by fans of the original game as a supplemental experience, serving as a stylistic showcase for Obari's visual direction rather than a traditional narrative-driven production.
