Wild 7 Another

Wild 7 Another was produced by E&G Films in 2002 as a television series adaptation of the long-running manga series Wild 7, originally created by Mikiya Mochizuki in the late 1960s. The series sought to modernize the concept of a government-sanctioned biker squad composed of former criminals who perform extrajudicial justice. Unlike the gritty, grounded tone of the original manga, this iteration adopted a distinct visual style characterized by the emerging digital animation techniques of the early 2000s.

The production faced significant challenges in translating the kinetic, high-octane energy of Mochizuki’s panels into an animated medium. While the original manga is celebrated for its influence on the action and seinen genres, the 2002 series is noted by critics primarily for its departure from traditional hand-drawn aesthetics in favor of experimental CGI elements. It remains a polarizing entry in the franchise, often discussed more for its unique production context and the difficulty of adapting such a seminal, legacy-heavy property for a contemporary television audience.
