Where it came from
Wu Tian Yu Shang 2035 was produced by ASK Animation Studio as an ambitious ONA project aimed at expanding the narrative universe of its source material into a near-future setting. The project was conceived during a period of transition for the studio, reflecting a desire to experiment with more sophisticated digital compositing and character design techniques that deviated from their earlier, more traditional works.
The visual direction, led by the studio's in-house creative team, sought to blend sleek, cyberpunk-inspired aesthetics with the emotional weight characteristic of the franchise. Upon release, the series received attention from long-term followers for its tonal shift and upgraded production values, though it remained a niche entry primarily catering to established fans of the studio’s ongoing world-building efforts.
