Xianwu Zhuan 2

Xianwu Zhuan, also known as Tales of Dark River, is a prominent installment in the 3D animated xianxia series produced by Xiaoming Taiji. It follows the narrative established in the broader Dark River universe, focusing on the intricate power dynamics and martial arts lineages of the Tang Sect. The production is characterized by its high-fidelity character modeling and fluid combat choreography, which have become hallmarks of the studio's contribution to the rapidly expanding Chinese animation industry.

The creative direction for the series emphasizes a grim, atmospheric aesthetic that differentiates it from more traditional, lighthearted fantasy animations. By prioritizing visual depth and complex world-building, the design team aimed to capture the intensity of the source material's cult-following narrative. Upon release, the series was received as a technically sophisticated entry that successfully translated the dense lore of web-based martial arts fiction into a visually compelling long-form animated format.
