Xiao Hua Xian 5: Sishi Hua Yu - Chun Xia 2: Xia

Xiao Hua Xian, or Flower Angel, debuted as an original net animation series in 2014, marking a significant entry in the Chinese magical girl genre. Produced by Taomee, the series was designed to resonate with younger audiences by blending fantasy, fashion, and themes of growth and friendship. The 'Sishi Hua Yu' sub-series represents a thematic expansion of the original narrative, focusing on the seasonal cycles and their corresponding floral manifestations, with the 'Xia' entry specifically capturing the aesthetic vibrancy of summer.

The character designs for the series were crafted to emphasize a distinct aesthetic often associated with shoujo-inspired animation, characterized by elaborate costume details and expressive, fluid movement. While the series was developed primarily for a domestic digital audience in China, it gained a dedicated following for its departure from traditional animation styles in the region. The production team aimed to create a visually rich experience that prioritized color and character charm, which ultimately solidified the show's place as a recognizable brand within the domestic digital animation landscape.
