Where it came from
Xuccess Heaven was an ambitious 2015 multimedia project developed by Bandai Namco Online and Sega. It was conceived as a cross-platform franchise consisting of an ONA series and a mobile role-playing game, designed to capitalize on the popularity of high-concept character-driven anime within the gaming sector. The project was divided into five distinct 'chapters' or academies, each featuring different creative teams, character designers, and thematic focuses, aiming to offer a varied narrative experience for mobile players.
The animation for the project was produced by Studio Signpost and Production I.G, with various character designs contributed by established industry figures such as Kazutaka Kodaka. Despite the significant investment in its multi-layered narrative and high-profile production staff, the project struggled to gain lasting traction in a crowded mobile market. The service for the associated game ended in 2016, and the franchise has since remained a niche curiosity representing the mid-2010s trend of interconnected mobile-to-anime media experiments.
