Where it came from
Yakiniku-ten Sengoku was released in 2018 as an original net animation, serving as a promotional project for the Sengoku Yakiniku restaurant chain in Japan. Produced by the studio Graphinica, the short was designed to leverage the popularity of anime-style advertising to build brand identity, blending culinary themes with high-energy animation sequences.
The production sought to capture the sensory experience of traditional Japanese barbecue through detailed visual depictions of grilling meats. By utilizing the creative shorthand of the anime medium, the short aimed to create a memorable narrative hook for potential diners, effectively positioning the restaurant as a destination for fans of both pop culture and authentic dining experiences.
