In the anime, the protagonist is overworked and always exhausted by daily life, and yearns for comfort and solace. They want to be kindly praised and healed. They think, "Children have it nice because they're spoiled." The protagonist wants to escape from reality, and so they go to a store and purchase a blue pacifier. When they put the pacifier in their mouth, it emits a strange light, and it magically transports the protagonist to another world. The protagonist is now in the body of a five-year-old child, and spends time at a day care center where there are many handsome men who are caregivers there. The caregivers use the "There, There Magic" to soothe the children at the day care center.

Where it came from
Yoshimaho was released in 2021 by Studio Helo as a short-form original net animation series. The project was created to explore the daily life and work challenges of a young office worker named Maho, characterized by its relatable and lighthearted approach to workplace culture in modern Japan. Its development reflected a trend in niche digital animation aimed at providing short, digestible segments for online audiences.
The production utilized a minimalist, accessible aesthetic to focus on character expression and comedic timing. Designed with a clean visual style, the series was intended to resonate with viewers who appreciate slice-of-life storytelling. While it remained a specialized release within the broader landscape of ONA content, it was recognized for its gentle tone and the focused creative direction provided by the team at Helo.
