After inheriting the company from their parents, siblings Yuuhi and Yuamu Oudou have started to work at the Alien Trouble Consultancy, an organization that hunts aliens. Although they have never encountered aliens before, Yuuhi is desperate to meet one as he believes that an alien has stolen his important item, called the "Earthdama".
One day, while searching for extraterrestrial creatures, Yuuhi and Yuamu find a strange spot in the forest where many trees have fallen, forming a scenery similar to a crop circle. As they venture further, they discover a mysterious spaceship and enter it out of curiosity. To their surprise, they come across Yuudias Velgear, an alien from the Velgear Star Cluster. As it turns out, Yuudias is seeking to learn about Rush Duel—a card game popular among elementary school students—as he believes that it will save his home from a long war.
With the siblings agreeing to teach Yuudias about Rush Duel, they eventually realize that their first contact with an alien may not be a random coincidence.

Where it came from
Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! debuted in 2022 as the eighth main entry in the long-running Yu-Gi-Oh! anime franchise. Produced by Studio Bridge, the series was created to carry on the legacy of the previous installment, Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS, while continuing to emphasize the Rush Duel format. The narrative shifts the setting to the extraterrestrial, focusing on an alien protagonist named Yudias Velgear who travels to Earth in search of the secrets of Rush Dueling, intending to guide his people toward a brighter future.
The series design maintains the aesthetic evolution seen in its predecessor, prioritizing a more stylized, lighthearted approach compared to the darker, industrial tones of earlier franchise entries. Studio Bridge aimed to sustain the fast-paced, accessible nature of Rush Dueling, which utilizes simplified rules to prioritize rapid gameplay. Reception has been largely defined by its distinct comedic tone and its continuation of the narrative bridge established by SEVENS, solidifying its place as a modern expansion of the franchise's card-game-centric universe.
