African Blue Tit

The African Blue Tit, Cyanistes teneriffae, was traditionally categorized as a subspecies of the Eurasian Blue Tit but was formally identified as a distinct species due to significant genetic and behavioral divergence. It is native to the Canary Islands and parts of Northern Africa, where it has adapted to diverse environments ranging from palm groves to laurel forests. Its evolution is characterized by a high degree of insular radiation, resulting in several localized subspecies that display variations in plumage intensity across its island habitats.

The physical design of the African Blue Tit reflects its specific ecological niche.
