Atoll Starling

The Atoll Starling, Aplonis feadensis, is a passerine bird endemic to the low-lying atolls of the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. Evolutionarily adapted to these isolated, resource-limited coral environments, the species evolved distinct physical characteristics, including rounded wings and a pointed tail, which facilitate efficient maneuverability amidst the dense, low-canopy vegetation of its island habitats.
