Black Tinamou

The Black Tinamou, Tinamus osgoodi, is a rare and elusive forest-dwelling bird native to the humid montane forests of the eastern Andes. First described in 1949, it was named in honor of Wilfred Hudson Osgood, a renowned mammalogist and ornithologist who contributed significantly to the exploration of South American biodiversity.
