Bolle's Pigeon

Bolle's pigeon, scientifically known as Columba bollii, is an endemic bird species native to the laurel forests of the Canary Islands. It was first described by the German naturalist Carl Bolle in the 19th century, for whom the species is named. The bird occupies a specialized ecological niche, relying on the moist, subtropical canopy of the archipelago, which has led to its classification as a vulnerable species due to historical habitat loss and fragmentation.

The physical design of the species is defined by its evolutionary adaptation to dense forest environments, characterized by its rounded wing and tail shapes.
