Boucard's Wren

Boucard's wren, scientifically classified as Campylorhynchus jocosus, was formally described by the ornithologist Philip Sclater in 1860. The bird is named in honor of Adolphe Boucard, a prominent French natural history collector and ornithologist who traveled extensively through Mexico during the mid-19th century. Its classification reflects the period's intense interest in cataloging the biodiversity of the Neotropics, specifically the arid scrublands of the Mexican plateau where the species is endemic.
