Checker-throated Stipplethroat

The Checker-throated Stipplethroat, Epinecrophylla fulviventris, is a small insectivorous bird native to the humid lowland forests of Central and South America. It was formally described by the ornithologist George Newbold Lawrence in 1862. Within the family Thamnophilidae, this species is noted for its distinctive plumage and behavioral reliance on the dense understory of tropical rainforests, where it often participates in mixed-species foraging flocks to maximize its efficiency in locating arthropods.
