Eurasian Spoonbill

The Eurasian Spoonbill, Platalea leucorodia, is a member of the Threskiornithidae family, evolutionarily adapted for foraging in shallow wetlands. Its distinct spatulate bill evolved as a specialized tool for tactile feeding, allowing the bird to sweep through submerged vegetation to catch small fish, crustaceans, and aquatic insects.
