Gray-and-gold Warbler

The Gray-and-gold Warbler, scientifically classified as Myiothlypis fraseri, is a member of the Parulidae family native to the humid forests of southwestern Ecuador and northwestern Peru. Its existence within ornithological records was solidified through the mid-19th century exploration of the Andean foothills, a period defined by intense cataloging of Neotropical biodiversity. The species was named in honor of the British collector Louis Fraser, who contributed significantly to the understanding of South American avian life during his extensive travels in the region.
