Gray-capped Warbler

The Gray-capped Warbler (Eminia lepida) was formally described by the German naturalist Gustav Hartlaub in 1881. It is a monotypic species within the family Cisticolidae, native to the wetlands and dense scrub habitats of East and Central Africa. Its classification emerged from the era of late 19th-century ornithological exploration, where researchers sought to categorize the distinct avian biodiversity found across the African Great Lakes region.
