Javan Kingfisher

The Javan kingfisher, known scientifically as Halcyon cyanoventris, is a species endemic to the Indonesian islands of Java and Bali. Historically documented by naturalists during the era of colonial exploration, the bird is distinguished by its vibrant plumage and distinct morphological features, including its broad, powerful wings and a characteristically square-cut tail.
