Little Paradise-Kingfisher

The Little Paradise-Kingfisher, scientifically known as Tanysiptera hydrocharis, is a member of the diverse paradise-kingfisher genus native to the Aru Islands and parts of southern New Guinea. This species evolved within dense lowland rainforests, developing distinct morphological traits such as its characteristic rounded wing shape and uniquely elongated, pointed tail feathers that aid in maneuvering through thick undergrowth.
