Mulga Parrot

The Mulga Parrot, scientifically classified as Psephotellus varius, is native to the semi-arid scrublands of inland Australia. Its common name is derived from the mulga acacia trees that dominate its natural habitat, where the species relies on the seeds and foliage of the landscape for sustenance. First described by naturalist John Gould in the mid-19th century, the bird is characterized by its distinctive coloration—males feature a vivid yellow face and a bright red patch on the forehead, set against a predominantly green body.
