Olive-shouldered Parrot

The Olive-shouldered Parrot, scientifically classified as Aprosmictus jonquillaceus, is a species endemic to the island of Timor and its surrounding smaller islands. Historically, it emerged within the context of the distinct biogeography of the Wallacea region, a zone characterized by high levels of endemism resulting from its unique isolation. As a member of the king parrot genus, it evolved in the island's montane forests, developing a specific morphology suited to its tropical environment.
