Radde's Warbler

Radde's Warbler, known scientifically as Phylloscopus schwarzi, was first described by the German explorer and naturalist Gustav Radde during his expedition to the southern reaches of the Russian Far East in the mid-19th century. The species was named in his honor by the zoologist Heinrich von Kittlitz, reflecting the 19th-century scientific tradition of identifying and cataloging the avian biodiversity of the expanding Russian Empire. It represents a distinct lineage of Old World leaf warblers, adapted specifically for the dense shrubbery and forest edges of its Siberian breeding grounds.
