Wilson's Snipe

The Wilson's Snipe, taxonomically distinguished as Gallinago delicata, was formally recognized as a species distinct from the Common Snipe in the early 21st century. Named in honor of the pioneering American ornithologist Alexander Wilson, who documented the species in the early 1800s, it serves as a representative of the Scolopacidae family.
