Yellow-throated Serin

The Yellow-throated Serin, or Crithagra flavigula, is a rare passerine bird native to a narrow range within the Ethiopian Highlands. It was first formally described by the ornithologist Salvadori in the late 19th century, emerging from an era of intensive European exploration of the African interior. The species is characterized by its modest, rounded wings and subtly notched tail, features that have evolved to suit its specific foraging habits in high-altitude scrublands and dry acacia forests.
