Karen's Worst Day (Baby-Sitters Little Sister Graphic Novel #3)

Karen's Worst Day was published in 2020 as part of the Baby-Sitters Little Sister graphic novel series, a modern adaptation of Ann M. Martin’s original 1988 book series. Developed by publisher Graphix, this initiative sought to reintroduce the world of Stoneybrook to a new generation of readers by translating the episodic, childhood-focused narratives into a vibrant, visual medium that aligns with contemporary middle-grade trends.

The graphic novel was illustrated and adapted by Katy Farina, who was tasked with reimagining Karen Brewer’s personality—notably her imaginative, often dramatic perspective on life—through a clean, expressive cartoon aesthetic. Farina’s design approach emphasizes dynamic character movement and a bright color palette, successfully bridging the nostalgic tone of the original novels with the pacing and visual style favored by today’s young readers.
