My Reality: Contemporary Art and the Culture of Japanese Animation was published in 2001 by Independent Curators International to accompany a traveling exhibition curated by Jeff Fleming. The project was conceived at the turn of the millennium to examine how Japanese animation, or anime, had permeated the consciousness of contemporary artists. It explored the shift from traditional fine art to a culture increasingly defined by mass-produced media, digital landscapes, and the blurred boundaries between real-world experiences and virtual projections.

The publication serves as both a catalog and a critical analysis of the influence of manga and anime on global visual aesthetics.
