Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes (Peter Nimble #1)

Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes was originally published in 2011 as the debut novel of Jonathan Auxier. Written as an homage to the classic Victorian adventure novels and folk tales of the 19th century, the story follows a blind orphan and master thief who embarks on a surreal quest after discovering a box of enchanted glass eyes. Auxier intended the narrative to explore themes of identity and moral growth, crafting a dark yet whimsical world that draws heavily on the tradition of dark fantasy for young readers.

The book gained critical recognition for its intricate world-building and character-driven plot, eventually earning a place on the American Library Association's list of Notable Children's Books. The Turkish edition, published by Altin Kitaplar under their children's imprint, brought this specific translation to a new audience, maintaining the original's commitment to imaginative storytelling and adventurous spirit that resonated with young readers globally.
