Pianomuziek Uit Het Repertoire Van Pétro van Doesburg

Released in 2000 on the Aristo label, this recording features pianist Peter Beijersbergen van Henegouwen interpreting works associated with the repertoire of Pétro van Doesburg. The project serves as a tribute to the musical sensibilities of van Doesburg, who was a significant figure in the Dutch avant-garde art scene as the wife of De Stijl founder Theo van Doesburg. Her interest in music was deeply intertwined with her multidisciplinary creative life, and this collection aims to preserve and showcase the specific compositions that defined her aesthetic world.

The album was designed to capture a contemplative and historically informed atmosphere, reflecting the minimalist and precise sensibilities often found in the artistic movements of the early 20th century. By selecting works that resonated with van Doesburg's personal archive, Beijersbergen van Henegouwen sought to bridge the gap between historical archival material and contemporary performance. Upon its release, it was regarded as a scholarly and atmospheric addition to the documentation of the De Stijl era, appreciated primarily by historians and enthusiasts of interdisciplinary European art history.
