Where it came from
Théogonie, released in 2017 by Alessandra Records, stands as the debut studio album from the French rock musician Alice Animal. Emerging from the independent rock scene, the album is characterized by its gritty, riff-heavy sound and introspective lyricism that draws on themes of mythology and personal transformation. Its production reflects a deliberate move toward a raw, authentic aesthetic that emphasizes the immediacy of live performance.
The album's visual identity and sound design were curated to mirror a sense of primal energy, aligning with Alice Animal's reputation as a formidable guitarist. Upon its release, the project was recognized for its technical instrumental prowess and its ability to blend classic blues-rock influences with a contemporary, dark atmosphere.
