20 Kreuzers - Hieronymus von Colloredo

This 20 Kreuzer coin was minted in 1772 in the Archbishopric of Salzburg during the reign of Hieronymus von Colloredo, the final Prince-Archbishop of the independent state. Following the death of his predecessor, Sigismund von Schrattenbach, Colloredo was elected to the position and immediately sought to reform the ecclesiastical and administrative structures of the territory. The coinage produced during his tenure serves as a reflection of this transition, marking the continuation of the Austrian-influenced monetary system that defined the region’s economic life in the late eighteenth century.
