The 20 Kreuzer coin, often referred to as a Zwanziger, was struck under the authority of Empress Maria Theresia during the mid-18th century. Following the conclusion of the War of the Austrian Succession, the Empress implemented a series of comprehensive monetary reforms to stabilize the economy of the Habsburg Monarchy. The design of the 1754 20 Kreuzer features the diademed bust of Maria Theresia on the obverse, reflecting her status as a powerful sovereign, while the reverse displays the double-headed eagle of the Austrian Empire.
