A Cat from Our World and the Forgotten Witch #5

A Cat from Our World and the Forgotten Witch, known in its original Japanese publication as Sekai no Owari no Encore, is a light novel series written by Kei Sazane with illustrations by Kurone Mishima. The series emerged from a crowded landscape of fantasy light novels in the mid-2010s, aiming to blend classic adventure tropes with a more melancholic, character-driven narrative. The fifth volume serves as a critical turning point in the series arc, further exploring the intricate world-building that Sazane developed to distinguish the title from its contemporaries.

Kurone Mishima's character designs were central to the series' visual appeal, as she utilized a distinct, soft-edged art style that complemented the story's themes of memory and displacement. Upon release, the series was received by readers as a reliable entry in the fantasy genre, praised largely for its evocative illustrations and the chemistry between the primary leads. The fifth issue specifically is noted for its narrative progression, effectively expanding the series' lore while maintaining the aesthetic consistency established by the preceding volumes.
