Adventure Comics #428

Adventure Comics #428 was published by DC Comics in April 1973 during a transformative era for the title. As one of DC's longest-running anthologies, this period saw the book shifting away from its traditional Superboy-centric stories toward more diverse narratives, often highlighting the experimental storytelling of the Bronze Age. The issue notably features stories involving the character Aquaman, who was undergoing a significant evolution in both tone and visual presentation during the early 1970s.

The creative direction for this period of Adventure Comics was influenced by the editorial shifts led by Carmine Infantino. The issue reflects the artistic sensibilities common to the era, featuring work from veteran creators who balanced the genre's superhero roots with the gritty, slightly more mature themes that defined comics of the 1970s. While it remains a standard installment within the series, it is sought by collectors interested in the specific aesthetic and narrative transition of DC's 'Bronze Age' anthology titles.
