Akuyaku Reijou Dasou desu ga, Kouryaku Taishou Sono 5 Igai wa Kyoumi Arimasen #1

This light novel volume, titled Akuyaku Reijou Dasou desu ga, Kouryaku Taishou Sono 5 Igai wa Kyoumi Arimasen (I am the Villainess, but I Have No Interest in the Capture Targets Other Than the Fifth One), emerged during the mid-2010s boom of the 'villainess' subgenre in Japanese web literature. Originally serialized on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform, the story subverts typical otome game tropes by centering on a protagonist who remains steadfastly devoted to a single minor character rather than the primary capture targets, reflecting a growing reader appetite for niche romantic narratives within the fantasy-isekai framework.

The physical volume was published as part of the light novel market's strategy to bridge online fan fiction with print media. The character designs and illustrations were crafted to lean into the aesthetic conventions of the genre, utilizing soft, expressive art styles common to light novel covers of the era. The series garnered a specific following among fans of self-aware meta-fiction, eventually seeing its concepts adapted into various manga formats, cementing its place in the broader catalog of modern Japanese character-driven storytelling.
