Akuyaku Reijou no Okaa-sama #3

Akuyaku Reijou no Okaa-sama, translated as The Villainess's Mother, is a manga adaptation based on the light novel series by Igul. The third volume, published as part of the series' ongoing serialization, continues the subversion of the popular villainess trope by shifting the perspective to the mother of the antagonistic character. This narrative choice explores the maternal role within the high-stakes political environment of an otome game setting, adding depth to the typical reincarnation genre.

The illustrations for this series are provided by artist Buncololi, whose work emphasizes the contrast between the comedic elements of the modern protagonist's life and the rigid societal expectations of the nobility. Upon its release, the series was received as a refreshing entry in the villainess category, praised for its focus on familial dynamics and the protagonist's grounded approach to navigating the complexities of her daughter's precarious social standing.
