Amazing Adult Fantasy #7

Amazing Adult Fantasy was published by Marvel Comics under its Atlas imprint during a transitional period in the early 1960s. The series was designed to move away from the traditional, child-oriented superhero tropes of the era, opting instead for a format influenced by classic anthologies like EC Comics' Tales from the Crypt. This specific issue served as an experimental testing ground for the storytelling sensibilities that would soon define the Marvel Age.

The issue features work from the core creative team of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, who collaborated to craft short, psychologically driven stories often centered on irony or moral ambiguity. At the time of its release, the series struggled to find a consistent audience, but its focus on character-driven narratives laid the necessary groundwork for the duo’s later development of Spider-Man in the final issue of the renamed series, Amazing Fantasy #15.
