Amazing Spider-Man No. 100 Facsimile Edition #1

The Amazing Spider-Man No. 100 Facsimile Edition, released by Marvel Comics, serves as a direct reproduction of the original 1971 issue. This reprint was produced to celebrate the historic significance of the original story, in which Peter Parker grapples with the burden of his dual identity and famously attempts to cure himself of his spider-powers. By recreating the original advertisements, letter columns, and editorial content, the facsimile aims to provide modern readers with an authentic sense of the comic's initial release during the Bronze Age of Marvel.

The original narrative, written by Stan Lee with iconic artwork by Gil Kane and John Romita Sr., was a pivotal moment in the series as it explored the psychological toll of being a hero. The design of this facsimile maintains the visual integrity of the source material, utilizing contemporary printing technology to mirror the aesthetic of the 1970s newsprint originals. It is part of Marvel's ongoing effort to make classic, high-impact storylines accessible to both new fans and longtime collectors who appreciate the historical context of the medium.
