Where it came from
Ayashii Omawari-san, a niche manga series characterized by its surreal humor and idiosyncratic art style, emerged during a period of experimentation within the seinen demographic. The second issue continues the series' exploration of a police officer navigating increasingly absurd and supernatural encounters in a mundane urban environment, maintaining the tonal consistency established in the debut.
The series is noted for its minimalist yet expressive visual storytelling, which prioritizes atmosphere and comedic timing over intricate detail. While the title remained relatively obscure compared to mainstream hits of its era, it garnered a dedicated following among readers interested in alternative manga, specifically for its unconventional take on the police procedural genre.
