Batman and the Outsiders #14

Batman and the Outsiders #14 was published by DC Comics in October 1984 as part of a series created by writer Mike W. Barr and artist Jim Aparo. The series emerged during the early 1980s as a departure from the traditional Justice League formula, focusing on a more vigilante-leaning team assembled by Batman to operate outside the constraints of conventional superhero ethics. The title was a commercial success for DC, capitalizing on the popularity of both the Dark Knight and the trend toward darker, team-based storytelling.

The issue features the artistic contributions of Jim Aparo, whose definitive, clean line work on Batman helped define the character's aesthetic for a generation of readers. In this installment, the creative team continued their focus on interpersonal dynamics and gritty street-level threats, staying true to the moody, cinematic tone established in the debut issue. The series was well-regarded for its consistency and for providing Batman with a unique supporting cast, marking a significant chapter in the character's development during the mid-eighties.
