Batman: Gotham Knights #8

Released in November 2000, Batman: Gotham Knights #8 was part of a monthly anthology series intended to explore the supporting cast and secondary figures within the Batman mythos. This particular issue, titled 'Harvest Breed', was written by Devin Grayson with interior art by Dale Eaglesham. The series as a whole served as a bridge between high-stakes event crossovers and the more intimate, character-driven storytelling that characterized the post-No Man's Land era of DC Comics.

The narrative focuses on Batman investigating a series of gruesome occult-themed murders, leaning into the darker, investigative tropes often associated with the character's earlier appearances. Dale Eaglesham’s illustrative style, marked by precise lines and a grounded approach to character physique, helped solidify the series' reputation for maintaining a consistent, gritty visual tone. While it was not a tentpole title like the primary Batman or Detective Comics runs, the issue remains a notable example of the early 2000s effort to expand the narrative depth of Gotham City's urban landscape.
